POS Item Categories are used to group POS Items together for ease of location. Use this guide to create or edit POS Item Categories.

Before You Start

All POS Items need to be assigned to a Revenue Type.

How to Create a POS Item Category

1. Go to Configuration → POS Item Categories and click on "Add POS Item Category".

2. Complete the fields:

• name the POS Category
• enter a sort order
• select a colour for the button (on the POS screen).

3. Click "Save POS Category".

How to Edit a POS Item Category

1. Go to Configuration → POS Item Categories and click on the name of the POS Item Category.

2. Edit the required fields and click "Save POS Category".

How to Make a POS Item Category Inactive

1. Go to Configuration → POS Item Categories and click on the name of the POS Item Category.

2. Select "Inactive" and click "Save POS Category".

To reactivate, select "Active" and save.

How to Delete a POS Item Category

POS Item Categories cannot be deleted. Follow the steps above to make the category inactive.

Inactive categories are:

• not available for selection when creating a POS Item and
• not visible on the POS screen.
