First Lesson is Free (0.00)

First Lesson is Free (0.00)

When enabled (box ticked), the first lesson of the first enrolment for a student will be free (charged 0.00). All subsequent lessons will be charged as per your configured pricing.

Things to note if you want to use this setting:

• if you are importing a database / entering your client base into the system for the first time, do not tick this box until all current clients have been entered into your system, otherwise they will all get their first lesson free as it will be their first lesson/first enrolment in SimplySwim. Instead, enable this setting once you are up and running with SimplySwim and at the point of enrolling new students.

• if a student is enrolled incorrectly and their enrolment is changed, the free lesson would have already been applied to the first incorrect enrolment. You will need to manually apply a discount for the first lesson. You can do this either as a POS Item (recommended) or manual adjustment ("Make a payment").

ON / Enabled

When enrolling a student, a "First Lesson Free" check box is visible and ticked.

Then the Finance section of the family screen will show a $0.00 invoice for the first lesson, and charges against the subsequent lessons in the current billed period.

OFF / Disabled

There is no "First Lesson Free" option on enrolment.

The finance section shows one line of invoicing with a charge for each lesson in the current billed period.
